Maximize the May School Holiday: WCDC’s Enrichment Day Camp for K-5 Students

School closures do not have to mean a pause in your child's growth. From May 26th to May 28th, the Westchester Child Development Center (WCDC) is hosting an immersive, three-day Enrichment Day Camp designed specifically for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. This focused session is entirely dedicated to academic enrichment, hands-on STEM exploration, and active play.

Morning Academic Enrichment: Building Core Skills

The morning sessions are carefully tailored to strengthen foundational language, logic, and analytical abilities.

• Premium Reading: Campers start their academic day from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with exercises designed to strengthen language and analytical skills.  

• Creative Writing: From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, expert instructors guide students to inspire imagination and storytelling skills.  

• Public Speaking & Debate: Integrated curriculum elements are utilized to build confidence and clear communication.  

  
  

Afternoon STEM Innovation: Hands-On Discovery

Following a supervised lunch and free play period from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, the afternoon shifts focus to critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering.  

• LEGO Robotics: Between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, students tackle team-based design and coding challenges.  

• Science Explorer: From 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, campers actively explore physics, biology, and chemistry through exciting, age-appropriate projects.  

  
  

Balanced Recreation & Social-Emotional Growth

We recognize the essential role of physical activity and social interaction for young learners. The camp schedule integrates balanced physical activity with games and team-building. Structured sports and group collaboration take place from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, ensuring kids practice problem-solving and leadership in structured free time before dismissal.

The Enrichment Day Camp operates daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The program cost is $150 per day, providing comprehensive access to all thematic learning adventures, hands-on creativity, and balanced fun.
