Little PhD Experiement
At WCDC, we believe that science education should go beyond textbooks and lectures—it should be about discovery, curiosity, and hands-on exploration. That’s why our Science Class for Fall 2024 is designed to immerse students in a world of scientific wonders, with a curriculum that spans from biology and chemistry to aerodynamics and the fusion of art and science. This unique course helps students develop critical thinking and research skills while fostering a lifelong passion for learning.
Modular Design
Biology and Biomedicine
Students will explore cell structures and delve into the latest biotechnological advances, such as carcinogenesis and its connection to genetics.
Magic of Chemistry
From observing chemical reactions like the iodine clock reaction to understanding CO2’s supercritical state, this module equips students with knowledge of both physics and chemistry through engaging hands-on experiments.
Illumination by Illumina
Students will use real sequencing platforms (Qiime2, Mothur) to analyze microbial samples from their environment, understanding the unseen ecosystems around them
Aviation & Aerodynamics
Students will get to experience the excitement of flying through a full-motion simulator while learning essential principles of aerodynamics, like Bernoulli’s principle, combined with real-world meteorological data analysis
