The Westchester Child Development Center (WCDC) is thrilled to announce a major milestone for our working families: We are officially on Bright Horizons! This exciting partnership means that parents can now utilize their Bright Horizons employer benefits to book our enriching, high-quality childcare programs with ease.

Whether you need gap coverage for school closures or are looking for a transformative summer experience, WCDC is ready to support your family with programs that champion both academic excellence and inclusive community building.

Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators

At WCDC, our mission goes beyond childcare; we are dedicated to building equitable educational pathways for all youth. Currently, the national STEM workforce lacks critical representation—women hold approximately 35% of STEM jobs, while Black and Hispanic professionals account for just 9% and 15% of the workforce, respectively.

We are actively working to close these gaps. By providing culturally responsive, accessible, and hands-on STEM education, we ensure that children of all racial groups, gender identities, and backgrounds are empowered to envision themselves as future engineers, creators, and leaders.

Upcoming Bright Horizons Coverage Dates

We understand that balancing professional responsibilities with your child's school calendar can be challenging. WCDC is stepping in to provide structured, secure, and highly engaging care during key transitional dates:

June 19th Day Camp

Need coverage for the upcoming school holiday? Our June 19th Day Camp runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for children in grades K–5. For $150 per day, your child will experience a perfectly balanced schedule:

Morning Academic Enrichment: Campers will build foundational literacy skills through Premium Reading and Creative Writing sessions.
Afternoon STEM Exploration: Students will engage in collaborative problem-solving through LEGO Robotics and hands-on Science experiments.
Active Recreation: The day concludes with structured indoor and outdoor sports to foster teamwork and physical fitness.

Pre-Summer Coverage: June 29 – July 2

To bridge the critical childcare gap just before traditional summer camps begin, WCDC is offering dedicated day camps from Monday, June 29 to Thursday, July 2. This pre-summer block will feature dynamic team-building activities, introductory robotics, and active play, ensuring your child is learning and engaged while you work.

WCDC 2026 Summer Camp: Monday–Thursday Challenge Rotations

Looking ahead to our official summer season, the WCDC 2026 Summer Camp is designed to let campers choose their challenge and build real skills. Our curriculum integrates hands-on STEM, creative design, and real-world exploration.

Our core instructional blocks run Monday through Thursday, offering campers a well-balanced rotation of Afternoon Challenge Courses rather than forcing them to select just one elective. This integrated approach includes:

Tech & Engineering Challenges: Campers design and program robots in the LEGO Robotics Challenge, discover machine learning in AI Explorers, and build foundational logic skills in Scratch and Python coding classes.
Design & Digital Media: Creativity shines in our 3D Printing Lab, Canva Design Studio, and LEGO Stop-Motion Animation workshops.
Strategy & Innovation: Students develop critical thinking through Engineering Escape Rooms and Data Detective exercises.

(Note: Fridays are reserved for our exciting weekly NYC-area field trips, aligning with our weekly mission themes such as "BioBots & Nature Tech" and "Art Meets AI".)
