WCDC moves beyond the traditional "day camp" model by offering a choice-driven, project-based curriculum inspired by top-tier engineering programs. Every week is a new mission, designed to turn campers into creators.

 

Cutting-Edge STEM Integration

We don't just "use" technology; we teach students to master it.

• LEGO Robotics & Engineering: Moving from basic builds to Python-based control for older campers.

• The AI Frontier: Age-appropriate introductions to AI concepts, teaching kids how to leverage machine learning as a creative tool.

• Maker Mastery: Students engage in 3D Printing and Digital Design, turning virtual ideas into physical prototypes they can take home.

 

The "Classroom Without Walls" (NYC Field Trips)

Every Friday, the camp shifts its "campus" to the world-class institutions of New York City. These aren't just sightseeing trips; they are integrated research expeditions:

• Aviation & History: Visiting the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

• Natural Sciences: Exploration at the American Museum of Natural History.

• Art & Culture: Creative inspiration at The Met.

• Direct Application: Campers return to the lab to apply what they saw in the field to their weekly projects.

 

Interdisciplinary "Durable" Skills

In an era of automation, we focus on the skills AI cannot replicate. Our camp structure forces students to synthesize different types of knowledge:

• Public Speaking: Weekly "Showcases" where kids present their projects to peers and instructors.

• Team Dynamics: Solving complex challenges requires collaborative "sprints," mimicking real-world tech environments.

• Global Citizenship: Drawing from our World Cultural Diversity Council roots, we ensure an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives in problem-solving.
