Congratulations to Westchester Child Development Center (WCDC)!We are proud to announce that two WCDC LEGO robotics teams—History Guardian and Tidal Engineers—have successfully advanced to the second round of the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) competition, showcasing outstanding teamwork, creativity, and engineering excellence.
🎉 Special congratulations to Team History Guardian, who earned First Place in their division. This remarkable achievement reflects the students’ hard work, problem-solving skills, and commitment to the FLL core values of discovery, innovation, teamwork, and fun.


A Proud Moment for WCDC’s LEGO Robotics Program
The FIRST LEGO League is a globally recognized STEM competition that challenges students to:
Design and build autonomous LEGO robots
Program using sensors, loops, and conditionals
Research real-world problems and present innovative solutions
Develop collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills
The success of History Guardian and Tidal Engineers demonstrates the strength of WCDC’s LEGO curriculum and coaching, as well as our focus on project-based, hands-on STEM education.
New Saturday LEGO Robotics Class Launching
🗓 Saturdays | ⏰ 1:00–2:30 PM
To celebrate this exciting milestone—and to welcome more young engineers—WCDC is launching a new Saturday LEGO Robotics class open to students who want to explore robotics, coding, and engineering in a fun and supportive environment.
What Students Will Learn
LEGO robot design and mechanical engineering fundamentals
Block-based coding using motors and sensors
Logical thinking, debugging, and iteration
Team collaboration and mission strategy
Introduction to FIRST LEGO League–style challenges
This class is ideal for students who are:
New to LEGO robotics and want to build a strong foundation
Interested in joining future FLL teams
Curious about STEM, engineering, and problem-solving
A Clear LEGO Learning Pathway at WCDC
WCDC’s LEGO program is designed to grow with your child:
Early Grades: Build foundational engineering and teamwork skills
Elementary Grades: Advance into robotics, coding, and FLL preparation
Competitive Level: Participate in official FIRST LEGO League teams and competitions
Our small group setting allows for personalized coaching, helping every child gain confidence and develop a true love for learning.
