WCDC LEGO Robotics Teams Make History at Hudson Valley Championship, All Advance to the Next Level of Competition

Westchester Child Development Center (WCDC) is proud to announce a major milestone in its STEM and robotics program. At the recently concluded New York State FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Championship, all three WCDC teams delivered outstanding performances and successfully advanced to the next level of competition, marking a historic achievement for the organization.
Competing against top teams from across New York State, WCDC students demonstrated exceptional robotics engineering skills, innovative thinking, and teamwork, earning top placements and prestigious awards.

Outstanding Results from WCDC Teams
🏆 History Guardian — Hudson Valley Champion (1st Place)
The History Guardian team claimed First Place overall, earning the New York State Championship title. Their robot performance, research project, and confident judging presentations set a new benchmark, showcasing advanced problem-solving abilities and strong alignment with FLL Core Values.
🥉 Tidal Engineer — 3rd Place & Best Innovation Award
The Tidal Engineer team secured Third Place overall and received the Best Innovation Award, recognizing their original solution design and creative engineering approach. This honor highlights the team’s ability to transform ideas into impactful, real-world solutions.
🎖️ Firefox — 6th Place & Advanced to the Next Level
The Firefox team achieved an impressive 6th Place finish, earning qualification to advance to the next stage of competition. Their steady robot performance and strong collaboration throughout the event reflected resilience, growth, and competitive maturity.

These achievements reflect months of focused preparation and dedication from WCDC students, guided by experienced robotics coaches and supported by committed families. Participation in FIRST LEGO League competitions challenges students to develop skills in coding, mechanical design, research, presentation, and teamwork, all within a values-driven STEM framework.

New LEGO Robotics Classes Begin February 14 — Now Enrolling
Inspired by the success of our competition teams, WCDC is excited to announce that the next round of LEGO Robotics classes will begin on February 14. These classes are designed for students who are interested in hands-on STEM learning, whether they are new to robotics or hoping to prepare for future competition teams.
We invite parents to sign up early, as class sizes are limited to ensure personalized instruction and meaningful team collaboration.
